Xtra Mile Construction serving Elk River, MN and the surrounding area is a family-owned business that strives to be a company where high quality craftsmanship and custom design meet. Justin Bakken
CEO
As acting CEO, Justin plays many roles in Xtra Mile. Having been raised in the construction environment, Justin comes with over 16 years of experience and knowledge of the trades. He surrounds himself with mentors in the industry as well as a professional business coach to help along the way. You are likely to first meet him at your consultation as he is our primary estimator. You will quickly find Justin to be a great resource, leader & friend.

Jenna Ariela Bakken
DESIGN & SELECTIONS MANAGER
Jenna oversees our design and selections process. You are likely to meet her at the start of the project as she is highly involved in the consultation phase. She counts it a joy to partner with clients like you through the entirety of the interior design & selections process. With her warmth and zest for life, she brings balance and color to our clients and team! In her free time, Jenna loves to take care of her chickens, dogs, and garden.

OWNER
As owner of Xtra Mile Construction, DJ is a significant part of our team. Today, DJ mainly serves as a consultant to our core team as he pursues other endeavors. His 30+ years of knowledge in this field and industry benefit us greatly. DJ is well known in the Elk River community for his business and charity efforts.

PROJECT MANAGER
We believe he can literally do it all. He has over 20 years of experience building new homes and remodeling. Will is dedicated to his craft, he is detail oriented, he takes pride in his work. He coordinates our trade partners. He will be your main point of contact during the course of your remodel. Will is kind and to the point. He most likely has every MasterCraft Tool. Don’t get him started on why these are good tools, he will tell you, just set aside a few hours.
Giving Back
We believe Xtra Mile is an avenue of change, hope & creativity. While we focus on serving our communities here in Minnesota, our hearts are also filled with vision for the country of Guatemala & the lives of the orphaned children we hope to impact in a positive way. Our long term vision is to flip orphanages in the country of Guatemala & provide children with spaces they are proud to call home. Why Guatemala? Well that’s a questions we encourage you to ask us in person!

“This was far and away the best experience I’ve had working with a contractor. The entire staff was fun to work with, punctual, and did everything they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent. This particular project involved demo and re-construction of a leaky shower, repair of crumbly grout in another bathroom, and installation of a back splash in the kitchen The quality of their work was top notch. My husband and I have another home project in the works, and we will be calling them again when we’re ready to move on it.”
